Interdependence Network

The Interdependence Network is a collaborative effort between six disability-based human service organizations from Canada and the United States. The Interdependence network was formed over three years ago to explore the concept of social capital and community engagement and its role in the field of rehabilitation and the lives of people with disabilities. Service associations include: CONNECT Communities — Langley and Lake Country, British Columbia; communityworks, inc — Kansas City, Missouri; Community Living Mississauga — Mississauga, Ontario; Florida Atlantic University — Boca Raton, Florida; Hope Services — San Jose, California; John F. Murphy Homes — Portland, Maine; United Cerebral Palsy/CLASS — Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Interdependence Network project is aimed at measuring the social capital levels of people with significant disabilities in these 6 organizations over a 2-year period.  The project includes designing supports to build social capital with the individuals involved in the project. The project will also include interim and post-evaluation surveys to measure the effectiveness of the interventions implement by each organization.
