15 Years and it Seems Like Just Yesterday

CONNECT Communities would like to thank and congratulate three employees for celebrating 15 years of service and six employees for celebrating five years of service with the company.

In Langley, Amy Allen, Connie Stover, and Rennie Minhas are celebrating 15 years with CONNECT.

Amy, team coordinator, house staff and rehab educator, first started as a care aide and loves the challenge of her job.

"I love when you see residents out in the community, you see them walk when they couldn’t walk before, and you know you helped prepare them for that," says Amy. "It’s very rewarding to see improvement."

Amy says CONNECT is her second family.

Connie, Resource Coach, insists the people she works with have made her 15 years fly by.

"I love my job. I couldn’t do this job if I didn’t love it because it’s not always easy. You never know what to expect. But I love the diversity."

Connie says she does a bit of everything including pharmacy, scheduling, equipment management, and rehab assistance.

Rennie Minhas came to Canada from India with a Masters in English and rather than going back to school to get the equivalent education, she had a family and dedicated herself to working with brain injury.

She describes her job a mix of everything, which can include cooking, driving residents to appointments, taking care of the house, community and leisure outings and lots of interaction with residents.

"I love my job, being in the community with the residents, my co-workers and how we help each other out when we need to."

Celebrating 5 years of service are Belle OJ Suay, Johanne Behan, Catherine (CJ) Fontanoza, Mark Alfeche, Melvin Estrada, Ramina Bueno and Angelita Gawne.

Janette Jackman, Langley’s Leader of Operations, says it has been a privilege to get to know and work alongside such extraordinary people every day.

"It brings me great joy to be able to thank them and share this wonderful moment as we celebrate these anniversaries of making lives better."
