From Lake Country to Langley and Back Again

Chris Acton, Physical Coach, is returning to CONNECT Lake Country after more than a year working at CONNECT Langley.

"It’s been interesting to experience both sites because while they are both fruits, one is an apple and one is an orange. There are definitely differences, but they share goals and messages."

Chris plans to engage in more cross-site networking in order to share the young energy and new ideas of Lake Country with the experience and know-how of Langley and vice versa.

"I think both sites can learn from each other and become better through the sharing of ideas.

Chris started with Lake Country in June of 2010 and moved to CONNECT Langley in September of 2011 when her husband went back to school at UBC. She says Langley has been a great experience but she’s excited to move back home.

She says she went into physiotherapy with the intent to do sports therapy, being an athlete herself. However, she quickly changed her focus to brain injury in order to work with those who really need her.

"I think the best part of my job and the biggest challenge is that every day is completely different. You never know what you’re going to be dealing with but that’s really why I love my job."

Chris will be joining Lake Country as a staff mentor and will be focusing on the cross-site Safety Resource Team.
